For all you ladies who are going to be doing a Boudoir Photo Shoot for your significant others.
I want to share some photos showing the makeup we recommend and some tips for getting ready.
Some suggestions to get yourself ready to look your best…
1.) Keep with your same facial routine! I have seen many clients who get facials or microderm abrasion or peels that leave their skin worse then where they started…simply because their skin was not prepared or used to the products.
2.) Get your brows shaped and any extra facial hair waxed, threaded, or sugared. Having your brows shaped will help frame your face and give a very polished but natural look. Makeup and close up shots can show the baby hair on your cheeks, jaw line, and lip. Removing this at least a week before the shoot will help your skin look fresh and smooth.
3.) Get a sunless tan. A light or light medium sunless tan 2 days before your shoot will give your skin a glow…don’t go overboard, dark tan skin doesn’t photograph well. But a light glow to the skin will make your muscles look more defined and make you feel thinner.
4.) Get your makeup done professionally. I recommend this not just because we do makeup at our studio, but also because you will be much happier in with the outcome of the photos (those last much longer then the day of the shoot). The make up should be natural but a little exaggerated and sultry. Soft lines and smudged eyes are best. A heavy smoky eye can look harsh, but warm tones and full lashes will give a very sexy natural look.
- Flawless skin is the best accessory you can have in a photo shoot like this, make sure it looks even and has dimension
- Keep the makeup colors warm and natural a silver or gray smoky eye will photograph harsh and can make you look older
- Soft pinkish lips, you want a little color. Nude can photograph poorly and leave you looking washed out and is a tired look.
- Matte…too much shimmer, sheen, glow, sparkle, or glitter can make the photo look cheap and dated
5.) Leave your hair down and soft. I would recommend getting a professional blow out so your hair is smooth and has volume, but not too much hair spray or styling. You want the entire look to be soft but still polished.
6.) Have a couple glasses of wine while you are getting ready!!!
