4th of July Beauty and Style
Beauty – Red Lips and Gold Eye Lids
Just use a touch of foundation where its needed, bronzing on the cheeks and forehead, and mascara are your basics. The best look for the upcoming Fourth of July Celebration is a matte red lip accented by bronzed powder and light rose gold shimmer eye shadow…(reminder that when using a shimmer eye shadow, do not apply above the crease). Keep it fresh and simple.
Hair – Messy Fluffy Pony Tail
A messy pony tail either half way up in the back of the head or low and to the side. The best part is to wrap a small piece of hair around the pony tail base not only to cover up the hairband, but also to add a little volume and structure to the hair style. The larger piece of hair you wrap around, the more the pony tail will stand up on the back of your head. Very fresh and youthful.
Style – Patriotic Colors and Style
I love dressing up or for a specific occasion, but costumes are only meant for Halloween or a Costume Party. Make your 4th of July outfit stylish and patriotic without looking like you belong in the Independence Day Parade. I also think it is smart to have pieces of clothing that you can wear again for any occasion, so a blue and white stripped dress or top is a fabulous idea…then add a little pop of red somewhere with shoes or accessories. Also a reminder that you want to be comfortable so you can sit at a BBQ or walk for a long distance to the fireworks or park. Wedges, Converse style, cowboy boots, or sandals are the only appropriate form of footwear for this holiday, heels in general are way too formal and actual athletic shoes are way too casual.
Lifestyle – Oversized Canvas Tote
Bring a big canvas tote with you wherever you go. You will be the hero when you have a place to put everyone else’s keys, extra sweatshirts, and water bottles! Found this one by WildFox at Via Lago for $150, but it is reversible so its half the price right?
That’s What She Said – by Sequoia Leopold
“Enjoy the holiday responsibly, please! There are others in the park, watching the fireworks, and on their boats who might not want to deal with drunken disasters…and none of us want to meet you on the road. Act like you care about our country and the people who live in it for the day”
